A Remembrance Day Message from MP Julie Dzerowicz
Added December 22, 2018 from Julie Dzerowicz M.P..
100 years after the end of World War I, we see how the sacrifices of our Canadian soldiers led to the freedoms we enjoy today. To our Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families – thank you for your service and sacrifice. Lest we forget.

MP Julie Dzerowicz speaks about honouring veterans
Added December 22, 2018 from Julie Dzerowicz M.P..
As veterans returned home from the Great War in 1918, the Government of Canada identified the need to recognize their valour and patriotic service to our country. No military burial ground existed at the time.
Prospect Cemetery in Davenport was chosen as the location for a field of honour, and Canada's first veterans' section. Today, it is the final resting place of over 5,300 Canadian and Allied Forces veterans - making it the largest World War I veterans' section in Canada.
As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, I encourage everyone in Davenport to visit Prospect Cemetery, which holds an annual sunrise ceremony every Remembrance Day. Let us pay special tribute to those who have so bravely served our country.

MP Julie Dzerowicz speaks about Human Rights in Latin America
Added December 22, 2018 from Julie Dzerowicz M.P..
Recently, I rose in the House of Commons to draw attention to the deterioration of democracy and human rights in Honduras, Venezuela, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Thousands of migrants are fleeing from the rampant criminal activity and instability in these countries to other parts of Latin America and the United States.
I'm proud our federal government and Minister Chrystia Freeland have condemned Honduras, Nicaragua, and Venezuela for failing to protect the human rights of their citizens. I urge us all to continue to be vigilant regarding what is happening in Latin America. Canada must continue to condemn regimes that fail to uphold the basic principles of democracy.

M.P. Julie Dzerowicz speaks about Bill C-77
Added October 31, 2018 from Julie Dzerowicz M.P..
Repairing the relationship and building a new nation-to-nation relationship with the indigenous people of this country is very important to Davenport residents. I am very glad to be focusing on the implications for indigenous peoples and highlight two key things that this bill would do that would specifically benefit the indigenous peoples of Canada.
Bill C-77 includes indigenous sentencing provisions that would require that military tribunals consider the circumstances of indigenous offenders at sentencing, as is the case in the civilian justice system. Through Bill C-77, we would ensure that indigenous people are given the same rights and respect in the military as in civilian courts. Amending the National Defence Act speaks directly to our government's efforts to repair and renew our relationship with indigenous peoples.

M.P. Dzerowicz speaks about Cyber Security
Added October 5, 2018 from Julie Dzerowicz M.P..
Data privacy and the threat of hacking are a priority and a worry for Davenport residents. Our government takes our responsibility to protect the private information of citizens and the integrity of our critical infrastructure systems very seriously. We committed $155 million for a new Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, establishing a unified government source of unique expertise and support.
On October 3rd, I rose in the House to ask Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for an update on the implementation of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security. Listen to his answer here.

I was honoured to rise in the House on behalf of Davenport residents to speak about how Budget 2018 will benefit them, and all Canadians.
