At the end of May, I hosted a Climate Action panel discussion at the Joseph J. Piccininni Community Centre, with a panel of experts on the topics of climate change, climate adaptation and environmental studies.
- Lisa DeMarco, Senior Partner, DeMarco Allan LLP (ranked as one of the world’s leading climate change lawyers and regularly attends and advises on related United Nations negotiations)
- Mark Winfield; Professor, York University; Co-Chair, Sustainable Energy Initiative (SEI)
- Arthur Lofsky, Director, Government Relations and Climate Adaptation Lead for Ontario at Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC)
We discussed questions raised at the Climate Action town hall that I hosted at the end of March. I wrote a letter to Minister McKenna, the Minister of Environment & Climate Change, to provide her with a summary of the discussions and the Davenport recommendations of what more the government can do to tackle climate change.
